Mr P.Varadarajan took over as the Principal of Prince Ashokraje Gaekwad School, with effect from June, 2011. Mr.P. Varadarajan is a mature Educationist with very rich experience in the field, spanning over more than twenty-five years. He has worked as the Principal, in D.A.V Public School, Delhi Public School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s School etc, in different parts of India. Before taking over Prince Ashokraje Gaekwad School as the Principal, Mr. P. Varadarajan worked as the Principal ,in Global Indian Foundation Singapore and had been deputed to head R.S.Krishnan Higher Secondary School, which has five thousand-odd students on roll and is located on the campus of B.H.E.L, Trichy, Tamilnadu.

 

Mr.P.Varadarajan is an accomplished educationist as well as a very resourceful teacher of English. He has conducted workshops treating of,The Why Of English , in different parts of India. All the participants who attended such workshops, have placed on record, how they found the experience of attending the workshop, very rewarding.

 

The Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, involves Mr.P. Varadarajan in conducting inspections of schools, before granting affiliation. Mr.P. Varadarajan also formed part of the expert committee constituted by N.C.E.R.T, New Delhi ,for revising text books used for Teaching English.

 

Mr.P.Varadarajan is a prolific writer. His writings have been published by magazines, published from Mumbai and Delhi. Many of his articles have been published in the souvenirs released by the Central Board Of Secondary Education, New Delhi, in connection with the annual conferences of Sahodaya complex, held in different parts of India.

 

N.C.E.R.T New Delhi, Macmillan India Ltd and the Pitambar Publishing Company, New Delhi, have published books written by Mr.P.Varadarajan.His transalation of the pristine Tamil classic Thirukkural into English, published by N.C.E.R.T. New Delhi, has to be specially referred to.

 

Mr.P.Varadarajan is an eloquent speaker. Different socio cultural organizations such as the Rotary club, the Lions club and so on keep inviting him to address them on a number of different topics. Different stations of All India Radio, located in different parts of India, have broadcast his talks on a variety of topics. Mr.P. Vardarajan takes keen interest in all the different activities of the School that he heads. He plans and programmes different curricular and co-curricular activities. He micro plans different functions and programmes, organized in the School. His forte is organizing spectacularly successful programmes and functions, involving only the students.

 

He personally guides and trains students to take part in different events outside the portals of the School, at the District level, State level, National level and even international level. No wonder, his students have won renown for themselves as well as Mr.P. Varadarajan.

 

The characteristic contribution of Mr.P. Varadarajan for all the different Schools that he has headed, has been professionally fine tuning them. In this regard, the protracted interaction, he always has with his staff and the exhaustive guidelines circulars that he issues, after such interactions, ask for special mention and are very worthy of emulating.Mr.P.Varadarajan has taken over Prince Ashokraje Gaekwad School as the Principal, with a vow to professionally fine tune the School. Already, the varied congenial changes that he has brought about in the function of the School and the different guidelines circulars he has ssssissued, in this regard, betoken Mr.P. Varadarajan’s mission to make Prince Ashokraje Gaekwad School, Vadodara, as one of the most desirable and effective centres of learning.

 

PUBLICPUBLICATIONS :

1. Mr P.Varadarajan has narrated serially the first nine books of Homer’s “Odysey” an ancient Greek epic in Balvihar, a monthly published by Chinmaya Mission, Mumbai.
2. Some of his tales have been published in the comic format in Tinkle, a magazine published by India Book House Trust, Mumbai.
3. Some of his tales have been published in Target, a monthly published by Living Media India, New Delhi.
4. Pitamber Publishing Company, New Delhi has published his version of the whole of Homer’s Odyssey and another book of his providing the narrative format of some of the plays of Shakespeare.
5. Macmillan India Limited has published some of his stories based on Purananuru , a Tamil Classic.
6. Mr P.Varadarajan has presented papers in different National Seminars
7. He formed part of the panel of experts who reviewed and finalized the script for the text books for teaching English, the N.C.E.R.T, New Delhi has published.
8. He has translated Thirukkural, a classic of ancient Tamil literature into English. N.C.E.R.T, New Delhi has published the same.
9. Many of his articles have been published in Bhavan’s Journal, published by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan,Mumbai.
10. His articles have been published in the souvenirs released by the C.B.S.E, New Delhi in connection with the Annual Conference of Sahodaya Complex.
11. He has been forming part of the inspection team nominated by the C.B.S.E, New Delhi to inspect different schools, before granting affiliation and upgradation.
12. He had been nominated for the Advisory Committee Of University Experimental School of M.S. University,Vadodara.
